Description
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To identify and develop relevant interventions which will assist the organisation to attain its objectives of a healthy conducive ER climate and social responsibility through good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

SHEQ:

Participate in Risk Assessments based on external and internal influences
Adhere to Behavioural Expectations
Participate in formal SHEQ Audits
Participate in Significant Incident Investigations


PEOPLE:

Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
CUSTOMERS:

Ensure Customer Satisfaction


HUMAN RESOURCES ADMINISTRATION:

Implement ER Policies and Procedures


EMPLOYEE RELATIONS:

Monitor the ER climate on site
Revise agreements as required
Negotiate within mandates
Analyse employee relations trends
Represent company at CCMA/Bargaining Council
Facilitate relationship building between stakeholders and management
Manage Employee Relations training
Handle operational ER issues
Chairing of management and union meetings and liaise with Site Shop Stewards


DISCIPLINE:

Develop and update the Disciplinary Code
Monitor the adherence to the Disciplinary and Grievance processes
Coordinate disciplinary hearings
Record and report disciplinary statistics


EMPLOYMENT EQUITY:

Conduct EE audits
Compile and consult on EE Report
Develop EE targets per Job Level
Develop action plan to bridge gaps
Monitor compliance with EE targets and report EE progress
Implement EE initiatives


COMMUNITY RELATIONS:

Manage and oversee the implementation of Community projects
Implement the Community Relations policy
Coordinate and liaise with community structures to ensure long term sustainability of community projects


WELLNESS

Manage the company’s wellness programme
Implement the HIV/AIDS Protocol
Manage Peer Educators

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

HR Degree/Diploma

4 years’ ER experience in similar environment



ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in community projects and communication would be an advantage
