Introduction - Intercape is searching for an IT Support Technician based at the Pretoria Depot.
Minimum Requirements...

Qualifications and Requirements:

N + networking diploma or minimum of 3 years practical experience in IT.
TCP/ICP (Networking) and 802.11 (wireless) experience.
Driver’s License.
Skills Requirements:

Basic understanding of PC Hardware setup and configuration.
Understanding of wired and wireless networking
Understanding of IP based video surveillance systems.
Flexible, pro-active approach.
Excellent telephone manners.
“Hands on” approach and a willingness to learn.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft based operating systems with emphasis on Windows 7, Windows 8, Server 2003, Server 2008, Server 2012.
Attention to detail orientated.
Pro-actively resolve support issue logged on the Helpdesk/Task system

Job Specification...

Maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles.
Provide 1st line technical support; Answering support queries via phone.
Taking clients through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone to help set up systems or resolve issues.
Setting up new user accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues.
Escalate more complex calls to a more senior IT Support member.
Take ownership of user problems and be pro-active when dealing with user issues.
Maintain a log of any software or hardware problems detected.
Support users in the use of computer equipment by providing necessary training and advice.
Installing and configuring computer hardware, operating systems and applications.
Installing of network infrastructure wired and wireless
Installation of Video surveillance equipment and systems
Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and resolving hardware or software issues.
Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
