Job Description The IT Desktop Administrator role is to provide a point of contact for end users to receive support and maintenance within Motus Financial Services’ desktop computing environment. This includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment (including but not limited to PC, terminals, MFP’s) to ensure optimal workstation performance. The IT Desktop Administrator will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via remote access) in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide end-user assistance where required.
Position Overview
Specific Role Responsibilities • Install, upgrade, support and troubleshoot Enterprise Applications hosted within the Motus Financial Services IT environment.
• Ensure desktop computers connect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, application servers, and Administrative systems.
• Regularly updating how-to documents and system information documentation.
• Successful completion of helpdesk requests within Service Level Agreement.
• Ensure that all helpdesk requests have closing comments explaining the fault and resolution.
• Handing documentation in on time and providing feedback to Managers on requested information within the time allocated.
• Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components.
• Operate dashboards in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use.
• Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
• Consult with network users about how to solve existing system problems.
• Use tools and methodologies to load, copy and customize operating system configurations for deployment.
• Email account administration, i.e., account creation and management and distribution lists.
• User account administration, i.e., account creation and management and password Reset functions on Microsoft Active Directory.
• Assist users and other administrators in inter-departmental moves.
• Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs.
• Perform other related duties as required during working hours.
• After hour support and assistance as per schedule (standby).
Qualifications and Experience • 2 - 3 years work experience in a similar position
• Matric (Grade 12)
• A+, N+ or relevant degree / diploma
• MCSE or MCITP
• Technical knowledge of core Microsoft technologies including but not limited to Windows Servers, Active Directory, MS SQL, MS CRM, and core Network / HP technologies such as LAN/WAN, subnets, firewalls, VLAN's, and VPN
• Computer hardware and software systems and programs
• Computer networks, network administration and network installation
• Multi-Function Printers
• Computer troubleshooting
• Computer viruses and security
• E-mail and internet programs
• Mitel call centre environment
