Our client a leading global company is seeking a plant/blend tank operator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible to operate the plant safely and achieve daily and monthly production plans

Plant Operator (Process Controller) - 6 months contract

    Operate the plant safely according to the plant work process
    Operate the plant to achieve the daily and monthly production plan
    Monitor the plant ( on the DCS and in the field) while in operation
    Use all necessary documents in document management system (procedures, critical checklist, L&EO, batch ticket etc.)
    Carry out additional instructions from Master Task List (MTL)
    Record status of actions in the MTL
    Receive additional instructions from Shift Activity Coordinator (SAC) in line with plant operations
    Load job cards in the E-Log
    Update shift status in the E-log on a continuous basis during the shift
    Perform troubleshooting when deviations from normal operation is experienced
    Ensure a good housekeeping daily on shift
    Perform preparations for maintenance work in advance
    Adhere and follow shift handover protocol
    Unload and load road tankers
    Drive Forklift to load raw materials in to the reactor
    Participate in all EH&S programs
    Ensure that MRPII tracking sheets are up-to-date (PIRA, Production file, etc)
    Ensure that batch tickets are properly followed and filled in accordingly.
    Takes over the activities completed by the maintenance and ensures that correct functioning has been restored

    Technical knowledge of the physical, chemical, and work processes involved in achieving business objectives
    Computer proficient ( Ms Projects, Ms Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point)

Educational & Experience Requirements

    Matric with Mathematics & Science or NQF level 3 or 4 Plant Operations or S4 Chem. Eng.
    At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing facility (working shifts)
    Experience working in multifunctional teams and collaborating for superior results
    Demonstrated leadership skills are strongly valued
    Proficiency in English - speak, read and write
