To be available on site daily during Contractors working hours and at other times as the need arises. His/her normal working day and his/her period of employment will be mutually agreed upon between the Employer and Engineer.

To determine, in consultation with the Contractor, the needs of the labour for relevant training.

To communicate daily with the Contractor and the Engineer to determine the labour requirements with regards to numbers and skill, to identify possible labour dispute and to assist in their resolution.

To attend all meetings in which the community and/or labour is present or is required to be represented. In particular he/she will attend the first part of the monthly/site meeting to report on the targeted labour and targeted enterprise involvement.

To inform labour of their conditions of temporary employment and to inform labourers as early as possible when their period of employment will be terminated.

To attend disciplinary proceedings to ensure that hearings are fair and reasonable.

To keep a daily written record of his/her interviews and project liaison.

All such other duties as agreed upon between all parties concerned.

Minimum requirements:
Drivers licence (Own transport is preferable) / Access to transport

Must be able to speak English and Xhosa fluently

Familiar with the community structures within Cathcart and Stutterheim

Final selection of the suitable candidate will be subject to approval from SANRAL’s Project Manager

Good communication skills

Good written skills
