Operations Manager

Job Description

What You'll Do:

STATS is looking for an Operations Manager, the most senior operations role at our Capetown data production centre.  As the Operations Manager, you'll plan, direct and coordinate all data operations. You'll be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.

    Deliver to all allocated production plans as determined by Director – Production
    Manage all aspects of regional production, including multiple sports
    Ensure Production Managers, Team Leaders and Reporters are receiving regular feedback on quality; monitor for and act on all Quality Control issues
    Estimate, negotiate, agree, monitor and report monthly budget compliance for existing and new SLA's
    Perform quality controls and monitor production KPI’s.
    Recruit, train, supervise and appraise human resources
    Conduct team meetings to update members on best practices and continuing expectations
    Generate and share comprehensive and detailed reports about team performance, mission-related objectives, and deadlines

Skills & Requirements

What You'll Need:

    Degree in operations management or related field
    Proven work experience as operations manager
    Adequate knowledge of organisational effectiveness and operations management
    Budget development and oversight experience
    Track record of implementing metrics or KPIs and achieving/exceeding goals/deliverables
    A positive mind-set and willing to take initiative and problem-solve
    Comfort with Big Data and analytics, and the processes affiliated with creating them
    Leadership and organisational skills
    Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere
    Ability to produce error-free work under tight deadlines/live environment
    Excellent written, communication and organisational skills
    Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    Ability to think critically and adapt to dynamic environment, team and roles
    Team leader experience in another industry is beneficial; full training will be provided
