Job Purpose The aim of the Department of Transport and Public Works, Western Cape Government is to employ and develop a competent individual to integrate an effective and efficient management of Supply Chain Management services, in the provisioning system. The successful incumbent must be responsible and have the ability to function under pressure.This position is based in Cape Town.

Minimum Requirements Senior Certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent) with a minimum of 6 months relevant experience.

Recommendation Working experience in various SCM databases. Accounting experience.

Key Performance Areas Utilise various databases effectively for the pre-qualification of provisioning functions; Support services functions will entail: Processing of payments; Accurate capturing of invoices; Report all transactions and payments not made within 30 days; Supplier vetting; Liaising with suppliers in terms of goods and services; IPS filing system; Warehouse Management; Assist with monthly and annual stock takes; Working on an electronic purchasing system.

Competencies A good understanding of the following: Public Finance Management Act (PFMA); Supply Chain Management; A guide to Accounting Officers and Authorities; Proven computer literacy; Administration skills; Planning and organising skills; Interpersonal skills; Basic numeracy skills; Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages in the Western Cape.

Remuneration R 163 563 per annum (Salary Level 5)



Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
